R.I.P. Jim Carroll
Jim Carroll, Punk, Poet from NYC, a cult figure, who lived and brought the feeling from 70's and 80's, dies at 60. He was praised by such literary icons as Allen Ginsberg, William Burroughs and Jack Kerouac.
L.A. Times:
"The Basketball Diaries" was a collection of autobiographical stories that had been excerpted in literary magazines before Carroll put them into book form. It begins with a 1963 entry describing his excitement at playing his first game in a basketball league, but Carroll quickly establishes that he is no choirboy, detailing how his coach gropes him, how he snatches purses from elderly women, how he gets high sniffing cleaning fluid on the ferry and vomits all over a "fantastically huge man" on the deck below. The tale grows darker as it chronicles his descent over the next few years into heroin addiction, which he supports through prostitution.

Sorry I do not have any pictures from the Frankfurter Jazz Funk Rock group "Flowarea". They heated the audience for the master, but they were nearly hotter than the "Defunkt", furious....
Defunkt Soul is an infusion of various styles which became an influence for many bands like Fishbone, Living Colour, Red Hot Chillie Peppers and many others.

Zerrisene Umarmungen
Originaltitel: Los abrazos rotos
Im Juni 2008 waren wir zufällig an Playa Famara, wo wir immer surfen, wenn wir in Lanzarote sind. Eine Woche lang haben wir die Dreharbeiten zum Film "Zerrisene Umarmungen" mit dem grossen Regisseur Pedro Almodovar und brillianten Schauspieler in unmittelbarer Nähe genossen. Ein paar Mal haben wir unser Auto direkt in der Filmkulisse geparkt und die Proteste von Film crew zu hören bekommen. Es war eine grossartige Woche mit viel Action an diesem wunderschönen Strand. Regina hat sogar eine Frau das Leben gerettet, in dem sie die Rettungsmanschaft der Filmcrew herbeigeholt hat, um sie aus der Meeresströmung rauszuholen. Die Kinder waren begeistert von den vielen, bunten Drachen, die für den Film verwendet wurden.
Der Film läuft ab 6 August in Kinos und hier ist der Filmkritik von FAZ
Prädikat: Klassiker, unbedingt sehen....
